PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake capable of preventing not only generation of juddering vibration resulting from a dragging motion of a friction pad but also generation of a clonk resulting from transfer of the friction pad. SOLUTION: In a calliper floating type disc brake in which the front end 34 of a plate spring 30 attached to a backing plate 21 of respective friction pads 3, 4 is arranged to abut against a carrier 1 and the respective friction pads 3, 4 are separated from a disc rotor D by the urging force of the plate spring 30, regarding the plate spring 30, the front end 34 forming a turned back end of a bend 33 extended from a fixed part 32 fixed by caulking on the back face of the disc rotor rotating-in side to the axial outside of the disc rotor D is set to abut against the carrier 1 through a pad spring 5. An engaging piece 37 engaging with an erected piece 36 of the extremity of the plate spring 30 is formed in the pad spring 5, the respective friction pads 3, 4 are always extruded onto the disc rotor rotating-out side to bring it into contact with the torque receiving face of the carrier 1.
