<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate manufacturing an element, and improve controllability and speed in generating a random number. <P>SOLUTION: A random number generating element includes: a first electric field effect transistor (FET) 1 with a thin line channel; a second FET 2 with a thin line channel; and an electric charge storage part 4 composed of a conductor connected to the thin line channel of the second FET 2 and connected to the thin line channel of the first FET 1 via a capacitor. Elementary electric charge is injected to the electric charge storage part 4 by the gate voltage control of the second FET 2. The elementary electric charge to be randomly input/output to/from the electric charge storage part 4 is detected based on a change in the electric characteristic of the first FET 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
