PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more inexpensive spindle motor capable of enhancing efficiency of assembling process. SOLUTION: The spindle motor comprises a dynamic pressure bearing 1 for noncontact supporting a shaft member 2 rotatably, a disc hub 3 fixed to the shaft member 2, and a motor stator 4 and a motor rotor 5 opposing through a radial gap. Housing 7 of the dynamic pressure bearing 1 and a bearing sleeve 8 are formed of the same kind of metal material and the bearing sleeve 8 is secured to the inner circumference of the housing 7 by welding.
