A letterbox cover for a door 30 having an aperture 32 defining a cavity for receiving a letterbox, the letterbox cover comprising: a first outer member 10 and a second inner member 20 separated by the thickness of the letterbox structure. The device is designed to seal the letterbox apertures in disused houses. The outer member is connected to the inner member by a fastener such as a bolt 42 connecting into a threaded collar 14 attached to the first member. The first and second members can be planar, and can be dimensioned to have a height and width greater than the aperture; they can also be made of metal or plastic. The outer and inner members can have threaded collars 14, which can be used to determine the position of the cover. The cover can also have two or more projections attached to the inner side of the first or second members, such that the projections maintain the position of the letterbox cover. The device can be installed by removing the existing letterbox from the cavity and fastening the new in its place. |
