PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of easily and quickly recording desired image information independently of the form of use. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with a CCD 14 for acquiring image information denoting an object image, and a CPU 32 is controlled to store reference pattern information denoting a layout desirably photographed to a first memory 38 in advance, to compare the reference pattern information with the photographing pattern information denoted by the image information acquired by the CCD 14 and corresponding to the reference pattern information, to discriminate whether or not an object image denoted by the image information has the layout desirably photographed, and to record the image information when the object image denoted by the image information is discriminated to have the layout desirably photographed.
