PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet molding compound to which a glass fiber recovered through thermal decomposition of a plastic, can be recycled, lowering the strength by little. SOLUTION: The sheet molding compound is prepared by impregnating a second plastic into a glass fiber mat produced by mat-shape molding of a glass fiber obtained by separating and recovering it from a thermally decomposed glass fiber-containing plastic. The glass fiber can be recycled, lowering the strength by little by the followings: the glass mat where the glass fibers are entangled each other, can exhibit strength-retaining functions as the whole even when the glass fibers used are thermally deteriorated at the thermal decomposition.
