PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and properly display information of high precision in a limited display area. SOLUTION: In an information retrieval apparatus 100, a retrieval condition input part 201 accepts input of a retrieval condition. A retrieval part 202 retrieves objective information from a plurality of kinds of databases DB<SB>1</SB>to DB<SB>n</SB>on the basis of the inputted retrieval condition. A determination part 204 determines so that only objective information retrieved from a database having the highest priority is displayed on the display screen, on the basis of a conversion table. An objective information report control part 205 controls display of contents determined by the determination part 204. When a display switching indication is inputted by a display switching indication input part 206, the determination part 204 determines so that objective information retrieved from a database having a priority next to that of the database from which objective information displayed at present has been retrieved is displayed in the display screen.
