The unloading device has a catching lance (27) that is insertable into the interior of a tube which is to be processed, and is movable in a longitudinal direction (X). The tube is supported on a storage area of a support table. The catching lance is mounted on two retaining lance holders (32,33) which are independently movable in a vertical direction (Z). An independent claim is included for method cutting or machining of tubes.
