<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the yield of a material by restraining the deterioration of quality such as the development of non-slag formation slag and segregation caused by this slag, without spoiling the refining reaction of fused slag layer, in the case of applying remelting of a primary cast block with an ESR (Electroslag Remelting) method by using a cold-start method. <P>SOLUTION: A method for producing a cast block comprises; a first process in which at least a start block 16 is laid on a copper-made stool 14 arranged at the bottom part of a mold 12 in an electroslag remelting apparatus 10, and an ignition material 18 is laid on the start block 16; a second process, in which a primary charging flux 26a is charged around the start block 16; a third process in which a consumable electrode 22 is brought into contact with the surface of the ignition material 18 and the voltage is applied between the copper-made stool 14 and the consumable electrode 22, and the primary charging flux 26a is melted to form the fused slag layer 28; and a fourth process in which after melting the primary charging flux 26a, an additional charging flux 26b is charged in the mold 12 to melt the additional charging flux 26b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
