The method involves detecting a road parameter referring to actual road condition e.g. roughness or temperature, during driving operation of a vehicle, and influencing the controlling of tire pressure of the vehicle based on the road parameter. Reference values of the road parameter assigned to different road condition classes are stored in a data memory (16). Actual road class is determined by the comparison of the road parameter with the reference values. The pressure is controlled according to operating conditions and condition of the vehicle and under consideration of tire parameters. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for controlling tire pressure. |
