The device (106) has a fixing device (116) for fixing a shaft (110) to a handheld machine tool (100). A securing device (108) secures a tool (104) on the shaft in a working position, and has a securing element (124) that is moved from a securing position in which the tool is secured in the working position to a tool changing position in which the tool is attached on the shaft and/or removed from the shaft, where the element is moved by a link web guide (126) of the securing device. The shaft is designed in a cylindrical-shape, and has two half shells that are connected with one another. An independent claim is also included for a handheld machine tool.
