A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to suppress short circuit between a conductive pattern and a data line by connecting electrically the data line and a data pad part to each other through a data link line. A gate line and a data line(120) cross each other on a first substrate in order to define a pixel region. A thin film transistor is formed at an intersection between the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode(130) is electrically connected to the thin film transistor. A data link line is electrically connected to the data line. A data pad part(150) is connected to the data link line. A conductive pattern(300) is formed at an outside part of the first substrate including a part of the data link line. A second substrate is attached to the first substrate by using the conductive pattern. A liquid crystal layer is inserted between the first and second substrates. A data link line is positioned at a lower part of the conductive pattern and is formed on the same layer as the layer of the data line. |
