PURPOSE: A method for searching for memo data written with a hand and a device thereof are provided to search a predetermined memo index database for the memo data by dividing the memo data into a linear direction and a space direction and converting each data into a bit stream. CONSTITUTION: A control unit senses the operation of a memo search related application(S510). When search data is inputted, the control unit converts the inputted search data into a bit stream(S520,S540). When data corresponding to the converted bit stream is found from a memo index database, the control unit displays the found memo data(S560,S570). If there is not the data, the control unit displays no search data(S580).
