PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form separated laminate bars, thereby eliminating an etching process for electrically separating light emitting cells. CONSTITUTION: A buffer layer(23) is located on a substrate(21). A plurality of light emitting cells(26a) is separated on the buffer layer. The light emitting cells include an N type semiconductor bar(25), an etched P type semiconductor bar(29a), and an active layer(27a). Metal wires(35) connect the N and P type semiconductor bars respectively. An electrode(33) is interposed between the metal wires and the P type semiconductor bar. |
