PURPOSE: A remote control device using a virtual touch on a 3-D modeled electronic device, and a method thereof are provided to allow a quick operation by controlling an electronic device by virtually touching on the body of the 3-D modeled electronic device. CONSTITUTION: A 3-D coordinate calculation part(120) extracts 3-D coordinate data of the body of a user and an electronic device by using an image received through image taking. An electronic device detection part(130) recognizes spatial location information and product information of the electronic device by using the 3-D coordinate data of the electronic device, and generates a virtual contact area for a virtual touch based on the directional information corresponding to a straight line between the user and the electronic device. A user detection part(140) calculates a virtual touch location and a location change based on the 3-D coordinate data of the body of the user, and generates a command code implementing an operation of the electronic device.
