PURPOSE: A codebook index searching method using an index grouping method in a multiple transmission and reception antenna system based on a codebook, and a recording medium for recording the same are provided to search optimal indexes by selecting an optimal group. CONSTITUTION: An index group is created by grouping indexes within a codebook by using a chordal distance. One index group is selected from the created index groups(S610). An index is selected by searching the index from the selected group(S612). A distance between a beam-forming vector of a center index and a beam-forming vector of one or more non-center indexes is compared with the chordal distance. One center index including a minimum distance is selected according to a chordal distance comparison result. A group in which the center index is included includes the non-center indexes.
