<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the power converter for exciting a secondary excitation generator from overcurrent generated due to earth fault and system agitation, and to secure the operation continuity of the power converter. <P>SOLUTION: The power conversion device for secondary excitation includes a rectifier in parallel with the power converter through reactors not to flow overcurrent generated in the secondary winding of the secondary excitation generator into the power converter. Further, the DC unit of the rectifier is connected with the DC unit of the converter, and the overcurrent flown into from the secondary winding is diverted at the impedance ratio of the reactors to lessen the amount flowing into power converter voltage, thereby turning on the semiconductor switching element of the overcurrent generation arm in the power converter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
