<p>The present invention provides an La(Fe,Si)13-based magnetic refrigerant prepared from industrially pure mixed rare-earth. The industrially pure mixed rare-earth is an intermediate product of rare-earth purification, a mixed rare-earth of La-Ce-Pr-Nd in natural proportions and containing impurities extracted from light rare earth ore, or a LaCe alloy in natural proportions and containing impurities extracted from light rare earth ore. The present invention also provides a preparation method and use for said refrigerant. The method comprises: using industrially pure mixed rare-earth as a raw material, smelting, then annealing same to obtain the La(Fe,Si)13-based magnetic refrigerant. The impurities in the industrially pure mixed rare-earth do not affect a 1:13 phase formation and the appearance of a first order phase transition or metamagnetic transition behaviors, preserving the great magnetocaloric effect of the magnetic refrigerant. Using industrially pure mixed rare-earth to prepare a La(Fe,Si)13-based magnetic refrigerant reduces dependence on high purity single rare earth raw materials, reduces refrigerant preparation costs and is of practical significance to materials development in magnetic refrigeration.</p> |
