A single unit type dehumidification and drying system having boundary layer control cooperating with enhanced heat-exchange by main stream disturbance comprising a thermo-electrical semiconductor pair (2) provided in a thermally insulated casing (1), the thermo-electrical semiconductor pair (2) comprising an underlying cold end face (3) and an overlying hot end face (4), wherein cooling end ribs (11) connected to the cold end face (3) of the thermo-electrical semiconductor pair (2) are longitudinally provided with a plurality of boundary layer flow control devices (12) at positions near the face of a wall, and a main stream disturbance device (15) is provided on the main stream path between the cooling end ribs (11); and heating end ribs (14) connected to the top of the hot end face (4) are configured in the same way. The method overcomes the shortcomings of the boundary layer hindering heat transfer and the main stream and short stream not being able to be heated or cooled sufficiently.</p>
