<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass sheet manufacturing apparatus suitable for preventing the deformation of a vessel made of a platinum group metal and constituting a clarifier tank. <P>SOLUTION: The clarifier tank 30 for removing bubbles in molten glass 5 includes: the vessel 1 made of a platinum group metal and housing the molten glass 5; a refractory support 7 supporting the vessel 1; and a refractory fiber layer 2 disposed in contact with the outer circumferential face of the vessel 1 and the refractory support 7 between the vessel 1 and the refractory support 7. The refractory fiber layer 2 allows expansion of the vessel 1 to the refractory support 7 through interfacial slippage and deformation of the layer 2 and shrinkage of the layer 2. As a result, stress applied to the vessel 1 is relieved and the deformation of the vessel 1 is prevented. The refractory support 7 may have a refractory protective layer 3 having such airtightness as to block oxygen permeation in the thickness direction. The refractory protective layer 3 suppresses oxidation and vaporization of the platinum group metal constituting the vessel 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
