<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce band unevenness in an image forming apparatus for forming an image by a plurality of scans and reciprocal printing by using at least two kinds of recording materials. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus performs recording by ejecting ink from a recording head toward a recording medium, while repeating an operation of reciprocal scans of a recording head including a plurality of ejection ports for ejecting at least two kinds of inks onto a print medium and an operation of conveying the print medium. The apparatus has an input means configured to input ejection data for ejecting the ink onto the print medium to form the image, a calculation means configured to calculate an area ratio of each ink on the surfacemost of the print medium based upon the ejection data, and a determination means configured to set the ejection data such that the area ratio is substantially constant in the reciprocal scans. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
