PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical device capable of easily adjusting the inclination of scanning light relative to a face to be scanned and an image formation device with the same with ease and at low cost. SOLUTION: A housing 48 of the scanning optical device 4 is horizontally supported on frame members 20a, 20b by three points of first supporting portions 24a, 24ba, 24b and a second supporting portion 53. A pressing and contacting mechanism 27 bringing the housing 48 into pressurized contact with the frame member 20a is arranged in a side face 48a where the first supporting members 24a, 24ba, 24b are arranged. A supporting boss 21b constituting the second supporting portion 53 is protruded in a side face 48b opposing to the side face 48a, and an adjusting member 31 is mounted on the supporting boss 21b. The inclination in a horizontal direction of the housing 48 can be adjusted by sliding the adjusting member 31 in a horizontal direction relative to the frame member 20b.
