AN APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING A ZONE POSITION

PURPOSE: A region based position recognizing method is provided to accurately recognize position while excluding ambient environment and effect of an adjacent terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal receives a signal from fixed terminals(S210). The mobile terminal selects two fixed terminals transmitting signals showing the uppermost and the second uppermost RSSI values out of RSSI values greater than the RSSI threshold(S220). The mobile terminal compares the absolute value of difference between RSSI values of the selected two fixed terminals and a criterion for a middle region(230). If the absolute value of difference between RSSI values of the selected two fixed terminals is smaller than the criterion for a middle region, the mobile terminal estimates its own position as the middle region of the two fixed terminals(240). If the absolute value of difference between RSSI values of the selected two fixed terminals is greater than the criterion for a middle region, the mobile terminal estimates its own position as the fixed terminal transmitting the uppermost RSSI value(250).
