<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for rapidly and accurately identifying and quantifying analytes in a complex mixture. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises an ultra-sensitive cavity-enhanced spectrometer coupled to data-collection and analysis devices.
