<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring type network system that can logically prevent a loop from occurring and prevent a frame loss from occurring even if an open circuit in one direction occurs in the ring type network system. <P>SOLUTION: A ring type network system includes: a master node 12a for transmitting an open-circuit position marking frame B4 in a direction that an open circuit in one direction occurs, and then transmitting am open-circuit position specifying frame B5 in a direction that the open circuit in one direction does not occur; and a ring node 12b including: a receiving flag storing section 68 for storing a receiving flag that indicates whether to receive the open-circuit position marking frame B4 or not; and a transmitting flag storing section 64 for storing a transmitting flag that indicates whether to transmit the open-circuit position marking frame B4 or not.
