Provided are a media resource access control method and device. The method includes: a UPnP media server receiving a media resource identifier sent from a control point, and acquiring the pre-set authentication information corresponding to the media resource identifier;receiving a media resource acquisition request sent from a UPnP media player, wherein the media resource acquisition request contains information to be authenticated; and authenticating the information to be authenticated using the pre-set authentication information, and if the authentication is passed through, then sending to the UPnP media player the media resource corresponding to the media resource identifier.
