A method for changing a configuration of a screen on which function items of a mobile communication terminal are displayed and the terminal therefor are provided to reconfigure the screen on which plural function blocks are displayed by considering a user's interest through zoom-in and zoom-out functions, thereby more increasing the user's accessibility. When an indicator moves to the top of formlet-type function blocks on a screen on which at least one of the function blocks which collect detailed items for each terminal function is displayed, blocks in which the indicator is located are activated(300-330). It is decided whether an edition request is inputted by a user while the blocks are activated(340). If so, at least one of size and locations of the activated blocks is changed to reconfigure the screen(350,360).
