PURPOSE: A geodetic surveying system for correcting the distortion of map images is provided to correct the distortion more accurately by surveying not only corresponding geographic features but also ambient geographic features for distortion correction. CONSTITUTION: A geodetic surveying system for correcting the distortion of map images comprises a map image generating and distorted portion indicating device(100) and a geographic feature measuring device(200). The map image generating and distorted portion indicating device comprises a map data storing unit, a map image converting unit, a distortion searching unit, a distorted portion indicating unit, and a first communication unit. The distortion searching unit compare-analyzes the map images with a numerical map and a standard map, thereby discovering a distorted portion of the map images and new geographic features. The distorted portion indicating unit indicates locations of the distorted portion and new geographic features by using a distorted portion indicating coordinate which includes one or more of a GPS coordinate, a latitude longitude coordinate, and an address coordinate. The geographic feature measuring device comprises a camera, a second communication unit, an information recognizing unit, a GPS receiving unit, a datum point generating unit, a measurement geographic feature selecting unit, a measurement unit, a distorted portion correction data generating unit, and a distorted portion correction data storing unit.
