READER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for appropriately holding the optical setting of a reader.

SOLUTION: The reader includes: a housing including a placement plate on which an original is placed; a light source unit moving along the placement plate and irradiating the original with light; a mirror unit for specifying an optical path of reflection light from the original in the housing in an interlocked manner with the light source unit; and a locking member which is rotatably attached to one of the light source unit and the mirror unit. The housing includes: an operation member which is slide-operated for fixing the light source unit and the mirror unit; and a sliding face for slidably holding the operation member. The locking member rotates between an engaged position where the locking member is engaged with the operation member and the other of the light source unit and the mirror unit and a release position where engagement of the locking member with the operation member and the other unit is released with sliding of the operation member.
