PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily register transmission setting in a transmitter that transmits data. SOLUTION: In the transmitter capable of being connected to a data transmission/reception system, a transmitter for transmitting data and a receiver for receiving the data are connected via a network. The transmitter is provided with an operating means equipped with keys that are displayed and operated to direct the transmission to the receiver, and the destination information of the receiver is registered to the keys; a receiving means for receiving the destination information or information on the storage location of the destination information that can be registered to the keys of the operating means, and includes image data displayed at least on the keys from the receiver; and a registration means for registering the destination information received to the keys, when the destination information of the receiver is received from the storage location indicated by the transmitter or the storage location information.
