<p>Meconium stained amniotic fluid can indicate intrauterine fetal distress. The invention provides a method and a kit for detecting meconium in released amniotic fluid in pregnant women, including a personal pad having distinct patches for collecting body fluids and for performing color reactions. This invention is designed to be employed mainly by a lay person at home, but it also may provide possible etiologies for fetal distress.</p> |
