<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery unit which efficiently cools a battery while maintaining sufficient rigidity of a battery case. <P>SOLUTION: A battery unit 14 includes: a battery case 50 and multiple battery modules 60 housed and held in the battery case 50. A front side battery housing part 55, housing a front side battery module group 501, is formed at the first end part side in a first direction heading from a first end part, which is located on the side where a cooling air inlet port 86 of the battery case 50 is formed, to a second end part which is located on the side where a second exhaust port 55 is formed. A rear side battery housing part 56, housing a rear side battery module group 507, is formed at the second end part side of the battery case 50 in the first direction.
