<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven or knitted fabric for an automobile interior material including a polyethylene terephthalate fiber that imposes a low burden on the environment and has excellent tensile strength. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a woven or knitted fabric for an automobile interior material comprising a polyethylene terephthalate fiber made from a biomass resource-derived ethylene glycol, a fossil resource-derived terephthalic acid and/or an ester-forming derivative thereof. Polyethylene terephthalate constituting the polyethylene terephthalate fiber contains the biomass resource-derived carbon at a ratio of 10% or more based on the whole carbon atoms in the polymer (a measured bio-based content), in which the bio-based content is determined based on a concentration of radioactive carbon (<SP POS="POST">14</SP>C) in circulating carbon in the 1950s. The woven or knitted fabric has a basis weight of 100 to 600 g/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, tensile strength in its longitudinal direction of 400 to 1200 N/5 cm width, and tensile strength in its transverse direction of 400 to 1600 N/5 cm width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
