A pretensioner (15) receives and guides a pressurized gas driven piston (30) that is attached with a seatbelt component connected rope by tensioning movement. A gas generator (22) is used as a pressurized gas source for moving the piston by pressurized gas. A piston head (17) is arranged at one end of piston facing away from the gas generator. One end (25) of a cable (24) extended from the outer side of the pretensioner is attached to a fixed position on the tensioner. A safety component is connected to other end of cable above piston head by tensioning movement.
