<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner capable of reducing the amount of gas to be used for jetting flame. <P>SOLUTION: The burner 9 includes: a first jetting unit 37 for jetting flame generated by the combustion of first gas containing a surface modifier, oxygen, and flammable gas; and a second jetting unit for jetting flame generated by the combustion of second gas containing oxygen and flammable gas, the second jetting unit disposed so as to surround the periphery of the first jetting unit. The first jetting unit 37 is attachable and detachable, and the second jetting unit is divided into a plurality of division jetting units 39A-39D.
