<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embankment construction method for short-term restoration of an embankment destroyed by a flood and replacement with a permanent embankment. <P>SOLUTION: The first invention relates to a construction method for a temporary embankment, in which a core section of the embankment is constituted by disposing unit members vertically and horizontally, in which intrusion of sediment into the core section is prevented by wrapping a peripheral side section of the core section and an upper section thereof in a protective sheet, in which an upward raised and opened entrance/exit hole is provided in the upper section of the core section, and in which soil is heaped up around the core section and constructed as the temporary embankment.
