<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server and data distribution system, capable of notifying a client of a server state with an existing mechanism when the server state changes. <P>SOLUTION: The server includes a storage section for storing file data and is connected with a client through a network to open a name of the server to the network.
