PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-supply device that is operable corresponding to an input voltage lower than that of a conventional one, and to provide electronic equipment provided with the same. SOLUTION: When a signal IN instructs to turn on an n-channel MOS transistor Q1, a buffer 23 gives a voltage of a terminal T1 (a voltage on one end of a capacitor) to a gate of the n-channel MOS transistor Q1 so as to turn on the n-channel MOS transistor Q1. A diode is used instead of a switch SW in the conventional power-supply device. Therefore, the conventional power-supply device requires a voltage VCC by an amount of the sum of a forward voltage of the diode and a threshold voltage of the n-channel MOS transistor. On the other hand, the switch SW is used in the power-supply device 1. Therefore, it is not necessary to take the forward voltage of the diode into consideration when setting the voltage VCC.
