PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update a hold sound of a specific IP terminal connected to an IP network. SOLUTION: IP telephones 100 and 200, a TFTP server 300, a maintenance PC400, IP-PBX500, and a GW device are connected via an IP network 700. An updating system 10 of a hold sound updates only the hold sound of the specific IP telephone using this communications network. Specifically, the TFTP server 300 memorizes one or two or more hold sound data. The IP-PBX500 receives extension numbers of IP telephones, and a hold sound Web filename from the maintenance PC400. An update request of a hold sound Web file is notified to an IP telephone specified from an extension number of an IP telephone among two or more IP telephones. An IP telephone to which an update request is notified takes in hold sound data specified from the suspension sound Web filename among hold sound data memorized by the TFTP server 300, thereby updating a hold sound.
