摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with high visibility and high contrast in which alignment defects of liquid crystal, such as disclination and light leakage, of a liquid crystal display device during display at a black level can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: A part of pixel electrodes 203a to 203b is formed overlapping with a convex part 204. When the height of the convex part is too large, the liquid crystal is aligned obliquely relative to a substrate surface, thereby increasing light leakage (Fig 1(C)).
