<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-saving chair that enhances power-saving sense and that has great prospects for power saving since necessity of saving power is questioned in a shortage of power. <P>SOLUTION: Ordinarily, machines not in use is in an energized state and wastes a lot of electric power. Under the circumstances, the chair is configured in such a manner that when a person sits on the chair, the shaft 2 of the chair descends in conjunction with a free round plate 4, and a contact point of a limit switch 5 is activated. When the person leaves the chair, the contact point of the switch is detached by the return of gas shocks 7.
