<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comforter having a further improved heat retaining property. <P>SOLUTION: The comforter 10 includes a shoulder part 30 for covering the head side of a user, and a body part 20 for covering the trunk and the lower legs. The shoulder part 30 is defined as a front/rear double layer structure, and the body part 20 is defined as a single layer structure. In the shoulder part 30, the side of a lining 32 is divided into a plurality of sections S1-S7 in the width direction by vertical quilt lines 38. The central section S4 is formed with a recess part bent in the side of an outer material 31 by reducing the amount of filler such as down, relative to those of the other sections S1-S3 and S5-S7 on both sides.
