The invention relates to the use of chiral sulfamic acids as resolving agents, the sulfamic acid having the formula (R<SUB>1</SUB>,R<SUB>2</SUB>)N-SO3H, wherein: R<SUB>1 </SUB>and R<SUB>2</SUB>, being the same or different, represent a hydrogen atom or a C<SUB>1</SUB>-C<SUB>30 </SUB>linear, branched or cyclic (hetero)-aliphatic or (hetero)-aromatic group, provided that R<SUB>1 </SUB>and R<SUB>2 </SUB>are not both hydrogen and that at least one of the R<SUB>1 </SUB>and R<SUB>2 </SUB>groups is chiral. Further, methods for resolving enantiomeric mixtures are disclosed.
