<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of producing 2-(aryloxymethyl)benzaldehyde compounds. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing 2-(aryloxymethyl)benzaldehyde compounds of formula (2) includes a process of hydrolyzing a compound of formula (1), wherein X<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and X<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are each independently chlorine, bromine or iodine atom; Q<SP POS="POST">1</SP>, Q<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, Q<SP POS="POST">3</SP>and Q<SP POS="POST">4</SP>are each independently a hydrogen or halogen atom; and Ar is phenyl optionally having a substituent(s), in the presence of an organic acid and an organic acid salt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
