The invention relates to a novel micro- or nanosized cellulose suspension having a cellulose II structure. The invention also relates to the production of said suspension using a direct dissolving method and possible uses, for example, the production of coatings of coatings and films by drying, and to the use thereof as a viscosity modifier, for example in food and cosmetics.
