<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling tower in which the amount of outside air passing through a filler is increased to improve cooling efficiency on treated water by blocking outside air passing through a clearance adjoining to an upper end or a lower end of the filler. <P>SOLUTION: The cooling tower includes: a filler 2 composed of a large number of plate materials 20 arranged in parallel; a water supply tank 4 supplying treated water to the filler 2 from above; a suction fan 6 allowing outside air to flow, laterally with respect to the filler 2 between the plate materials 20 of the filler 2; and a drainage tank 5 in which the treated water cooled by the air flowing in the inside of the filler 2 flows. A sub filler 3 composed of a large number of plate materials 30 arranged in parallel is disposed in a clearance adjoining to an upper end or a lower end of the filler 2 in a direction in which the plate materials 30 of the sub filler 3 are perpendicular to the plate materials 20 of the filler 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
