<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment system and a water treatment method which exhibit an enhanced phosphorus removal efficiency in removing phosphorus from water to be treated by means of a phosphorus removal filter medium containing slag. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a water treatment system which removes phosphorus from water to be treated by bringing the water into contact with a phosphorus removal filter medium, wherein the phosphorus removal filter medium brought into contact with the water to be treated contains slag, and the slag used has an average particle diameter of 0.1 mm or less. In this case, the phosphorus removal filter medium, when the slag of the average particle diameter is used, can exhibit high phosphorus removal performance and can therefore cope with a more stringent phosphorus effluent standard, if enacted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
