<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric chain block that facilitates the inspection of a wear state of a chain. <P>SOLUTION: A predetermined length in a new state of a road chain is determined as a pulse number by a rotary encoder attachable to any rotary shaft, a use limit value of the chain is calculated based on the pulse number, and a pulse number in the predetermined length in use is calculated.
