<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic door opening device improved in distance detection accuracy for a distance to an obstacle even for the obstacle with a mirror surface since a conventional detection of an obstacle using merely a laser sensor may cause a distance calculation error for the obstacle with the mirror surface. <P>SOLUTION: The contact of a swing door on an obstacle having a mirror surface can be accurately avoided by detecting the obstacle using the combination of two sensors of a laser and a sonar. Also, the contact of the swing door on the obstacle can be avoided since the result of detecting the obstacle with the mirror surface as the obstacle can always be reflected by giving priority to the result of the detection of the obstacle by the sonar to determine the opening of the swing door. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
