<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball excellent in flying performance and controllability. <P>SOLUTION: The golf ball 2 includes: a core 4; an intermediate layer 6 located on the outer side of the core 4; a reinforced layer 8 located on the outer side of the intermediate layer 6; and a cover 10 located on the outer side of the reinforced layer 8. The R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>of a linear approximation curve obtained by the least-square method is at least 0.95 when distances (%) from the center point of the core 4 to 9 points obtained by dividing the distance from the center point to the surface at intervals of 12.5% of the radius of the core 4 and JIS-C hardness are plotted in a graph. The difference (H(100)-H(0)) between the JIS-C hardness H(100) of the surface of the core 4 and the JIS-C hardness H(0) of the center point of the core 4 is at least 15. The total thickness of the intermediate layer 6 is not more than 1.6 mm. The thickness of the cover 10 is not more than 1.2 mm. The cover 10 is formed of a resin composition.
